As we head into the final month of work at our Canyon Rim Modern Farmhouse, we thought we would take a look back at the inspiration that got us here. The popularity of the farmhouse style only continues to grow and we were inspired by all of the fresh, modern takes on this classic style. Embracing both the old and new, the modern farmhouse look has a little bit for everyone, and that is what we were hoping to put in to this house.

We were drawn to crisp white exteriors with metal roofing like this one from Refined Custom Homes…

and the contrasting black windows of this one from Tim Brown Architecture.

Our Canyon Rim house was a bit of a design challenge, because we were working with the original foundation, but we were able to get a similar look while maintaining the original footprint. Our design is below.

We are getting there! Tile is going in this week and we are on track to have our Modern Farmhouse finished mid-November.
